What made you choose your institution over others?
I personally chose Leeds because of the ranking. The advantages include the support you can get from staff. However, there have been quite a few strikes throughout the year and this affected both the teaching and learning experience.
What did you wish you knew before choosing your specific program?
As a European student, I wish I had more information about exam structure. The university system might change considerably when you decide to study abroad. More information about the modules - in particular, the optional modules. MSc International Business at Leeds is a well recognised course worldwide but given the amount of money we spent, I expected better organisation of the course.
What was your best experience at university?
The MSc International Business cohort was very international with several cultures. I therefore enjoyed meeting people from different backgrounds, especially when we had to team up in order to complete a university assessment.
What was your worst university experience?
COVID-19. It has drastically affected our overall university experience. It has particularly affected postgraduate students given that a Masters only lasts one year.
What is the hardest part about your program and what were the steps that you took to overcome any difficulties?
Adapting to the new university system. I overcame this difficulty by improving my adaptability and flexibility.
What was your favourite module/course and why?
International Business Theory (LUBS5267M). I particularly enjoyed this course because it was the core of the all programme. The assessment was based on 3 methods: 50% written exam, 30% assignment and 20% group presentation.
What tips and advice would you give to first year students?
Pick modules very carefully because this affects the modules that you can choose in second year.
